Californication has got to be one of the best recent cable-channel series out to date. It's extremely smart and funny, contains a lot of dark humor, and happens to be extremely realistic. With a slight word of caution to parents I'd recommend this series to anyone with an open mind any day of the week.



Movies/television series with strong psychological or philosophical themes tend to be horribly boring. Or at the very least extremely dysfunctional (the final season of The Sopranos comes to mind). But on the rare occasion that the directors and screen writers get it right, what's the end result?

If you're not afraid to watch something which borders into the extreme at times, check out this witty fun series as soon as you can. Everything balances out into a perfect work of art... truly.
